Eating healthy for a week and stupid buttons in jeans!

April 13, 2007

At the beginning of this week I challenged myself to eat as healthy as I possibly could to see if it would make me have more energy, be happier, and just do nothing but good stuff for me. So during the week I restrained myself from eating any deep fried food or anything that is high in trans fats and other bad shit, and replaced that bad food with salad and lots of chicken and or sushi and some pasta...but not too much pasta. Now some of you are probably saying to yourself, rice and pasta isn't super good for you...well tough - I am better off eating that instead of fries and deep fried stuff with lots of salt.

My overall feeling about my small attempt at a healthy lifestyle is that I do have a little more energy and I do feel a little bit better but I by no means feel like a new person... I think I am going to need to do some running or working out or something else. But I am still happy and thought I put forth a valiant effort in not eating extremely unhealthy food - its all about baby steps.

In other news, last night I went to the Eaton Center with Lily in an attempt to find some new spring/summer clothing for myself - but my main goal was to just find a nice pair of pants and or dark jeans.

We started off at the normal places like the Gap and some other place but I was not really impressed by the jeans and any of their clothing for that matter. All of the clothing just looked and felt so crappy. We then started going to places like Hollister, Abercrombie and other stores, where I started to notice a pattern with all of the mens jeans... They were all using those stupid buttons instead of a zipper for the groin area! WHY?! Personally, I think that is the most inconvenient clothing design ever because unlike a zipper crotch, these jeans take time to come off and well sometimes they need to go down in a hurry (ie Drinking a few liters of water and having to go to the washroom). I know I am making a big deal out of a little thing but the buttons are a pain in the butt to button-up and down due to the tight stitching.

So if anyone out there knows of any decent manufacturers or suppliers of quality mens jeans and or pants, please let me know. This is also open to you people who work for a pants manufacturer, and would like to get some exposure. Just don't spam, and by spamming I mean posting more than a few times saying the same thing over and over... that would not be cool.

Thats all for now though!

Have a good weekend everyone.

Mike
