The Leafs sucked the big one again

So I decided to give the Leafs another go tonight with the hopes that they would break their dismal 6 game loosing streak and would start to play some good hockey that they are more than capable of doing. That was not the case tonight where the Leafs played the Detroit Red Wings who were on a 3 game winning streak before the Leafs showed up and increased that total to 4.
The Leafs played like crap the entire game with very little drive or eagerness to win. In fact they deserved to loose by a much higher margin rather than 5-1. Now I am not saying that the goal tending is what kept them in the game because although Raycroft could not see some of the goals for tonight, some of the goals seemed pretty weak.
Raycroft is the least of the Leafs worries though. On paper the defense core of the Leafs was touted as being one of the better ones in the league before the season started. That has quickly changed with the leagues highest scoring team (for a short period of time) being in a massive slump where they are only able to get a maximum of 2 goals for and a minimum of 3 goals against. Using simple math, anyone can figure out that 2 is less than 3 and the team with the lesser will inevitably loose that game... Maybe someone should point that out to the Leafs as they seem to not be able to score any more than one goal per game but allow 3 or more with ease.
After watching tonights game I feel like I need to take a break from watching the Leafs, as they do not look like a progressing team with a promising future.
Heres to at least one win in the next 6 games - its a long shot but weirder things have happened.
