New Jeans

About a week ago I asked my sister to go out and buy me a pair of jeans for my birthday (it is a little late buy I could not think of anything else), so I told her where to go and what size I thought I would be. She went to American Eagle and purchased a size 32x32 Low Rise Boot Cut pair of jeans that were WAY to big for me - so I brought them back and tried on a smaller size. I tried on a 30x32 which I usually wear and for some reason the pockets on these pants were super low. Know I know these are low rise pants but all of my other pants had the pocket where they should be - on my ass not the back of my thy.I did not buy anything at the time of bringing those pants back and was given a Gift Certificate worth the price of the jeans to use on what ever else I wanted to buy.
So today I went back to American Eagle to try my luck again, and look for a new pair of pants for myself. I went there and they were all out of 30x30 in all kinds of dude pants that they carried... that totally sucked. I would have purchased a sweater or a t-shirt but everything was very plain looking. I guess I will have to wait to buy something.
So I guess what I am wondering is if there are any other jean stores or clothing stores that are in your minds, better than American Eagle - and I am sure there are a lot of better places out there.
