Go-Transit sucks a lot
November 30, 2006
Seeing as today is the final day of the month, it is time for me to go out and purchase a monthly pass to ride the Go-Train from Union Station to Bradford. It is the biggest waste of $247.00 CAD that I can think of - I could purchase an iPod every month for that kind of cash. For all the benefits that the Bradford Go-Transit line gets, I really see no reason why riders from Bradford station should be paying this amount of money for a ride that is rarely on time and our station has taken 2 years to renovate (it is not even done - that was just the parking lot). Other trains have internet access, televisions, and or something to keep riders occupied (I have only heard of these luxuries, I have no proof).
All trains, including the CN Rail trains have the right of way over the Bradford trains. There are only 4 trains that ride the single track from Bradford to Union and back, so scheduling these trains in should not be difficult - obviously it is as passengers on my train are always stuck waiting for other trains to pass or move out of the platform we are to be using.
I am writing this out of frustration obviously from the amount of BS that myself and other riders have to put up with on a daily basis. Tonight the Bradford station was the only station that was not open for riders to purchase monthly passes, every other station was open later than normal so their riders can purchase their tickets so not to be charged for illegal riding of the train. Maybe when the Bradford station is done - in the next 2 years - things will be different. Until then, the both the line and station suck, and I hate it a lot.
