Dinner at Baldwin's
November 3, 2006
Happy Friday everyone,
Today was one heck-tic day, it seems like everything bad that could happen happened today - until tonight that is of course. Lots of things to fix and figure out at work made a busy busy friday, which is pretty craptastic. For lunch toronto.com supplied us with sandwiches and cake which were super yummy and this time I only ate one piece of cake with no extra icing, this way I prevent myself from crashing an hour later due to a serious sugar high and monstrous sugar low. All and all it was a good lunch and thanks toronto.com :D
About a week ago I made plans to go out for dinner with my good friend Melissa (not my sister) who rides the train just like myself. And at around 5:30 or so tonight, we headed off to our yummy dinner destination Baldwins Steak House and Bar, which sounds kind of like a Keg or cheesy bar kinda place but this place was swanky. Like super posh and nice, not a place where I usually go but seeing as how we both wanted to try the place out and I wanted to take her out for dinner, I thought why not. We both had steak of some kind, I had my usual Filet Mignon (just called something different) and she had some sort of steak which was just a little differently than mine, I think it was called Gorgonzola. And we had wine which was selected by Melissa which was not that bad after I got used to it. Then for the first time ever, with the advice and gentle persuasion from Melissa I tried Escargot (i think thats how you spell it) and I liked it. Usually I hate food that looks gross because I just get the taste of grossness in my mouth after looking at it, but this time it did not look gross and I just put the stuff in my mouth and chewed. lol And then did that a few more times after. She also tried Horseradish for the first time and apparently thought it was fine so it was a win win situation - we both ate something new tonight and liked it, even though I liked mine more than her liking the Radish.
Dinner was over all very yummy and the place was not packed at all, very small and quiet. Unlike the Keg or other blockbuster restaurants out there where they are overbooked to the point where they forget to sit their guests.
Thats my little tidbit of information on my day hope you all had a keeper, I will post pictures of upcoming travels and events to Windsor tomorrow and on any excursions me and Melissa go on (as long as those are ok - I am not sure if they are quite yet).
Night everyone - that includes you damn spammers, go to sleep!
Mike
