Canada's Wonderland Fearfest

October 29, 2006

Hey everyone,

So I went to Canada's Wonderland Fearfest last night and I have mixed feelings about the whole thing. First off it had very impressive displays and props and other visual things that were just amazing. They had whole cars completely wrecked, lots and lots of corn and burlap, and an array of other mannequins and props that were just freaky to look at. But when you walk through all of the different stations you find that you really don't have much time to check this stuff out and actually get freaked out by the actors and actresses that are hiding in dark corners and other places where they can not be seen. Instead you find yourself being rushed though with a bunch of screaming 13 year old girls because the "bouncers" controlling the amount of people going through at any particular time are not doing their job right and are sending groups of 20-30 people through at once. Now once the people at the front get scared by the fake dead people and monsters the rest of the group knows exactly what is there and just walks on by because there is no way they can be caught off guard.
Brendans Pup This is a picture of the center lake at Canada's Wonderland. It was all lit up with deep red light, which I found looked really spooky and neat.

Other than that it was an "OK" time, but it was not worth the $30 something spent to just get into the place. For that price and the overall experience, going to a mom and pops haunted house would seem more feasible next Halloween. If they would lower the admission price and add a few more places to check out, it would be a fairly decent place to go.

I give it an overall rating of 6 out of 10. So if your thinking of going next year, do some research on other places to go, if you can not find anything remotley close to Canada's Wonderland then go. Other than that, avoid it and go to a Halloween party or some small haunted house / apartment / field.
