Buffalo Chicken Strips and Coffee with Hayley

September 22, 2006

Aloha everyone out there,

So the post starts off with me sitting around on another rainy day in Bradford with all of my important to-do items caught up, leaving myself stuck in absolute boredom looking through site and server-side stats that I was not really interested in at the time but it seemed to be passing the time quite nicely so there was no need to stop. Both my sister and Bradley have decided to go out for dinner and were not scheduled to be back until late tonight. So I decided to give Hayley a call and see what she was up to. To my amazement she was not busy and was totally up for doing anything. SCORE! We had already been out for dinner just the night before at Husky and were once again in need of more edible relaxation.

She pulled into my driveway within 15 minutes of me calling and I was extremely hungry. So in a spontaneous point of clarity reached by the two of us, we decided on our first destination that came to both of our minds-East Side Marios. Booo Ya! My favorite and currently only meal to order at East Sides would have to be the wonderfully delicious Buffalo Chicken Strips and a good cold one, which usually tends to be Kieths because anything else would take too much taste away from the chicken strips sent from heaven. Heres a little description of the buffalo strips:

East Side Buffalo Chicken Strips

These little pieces of premium white meat chicken, chopped from only the healthiest birds, are first battered in flour and some other secret ingredient that make them that much tastier. They are then slathered in a hot sauce that is not Franks Red Hot but some other hot sauce that has a bitter taste that takes some of the heat away and makes them that much more special.

Home cut fries, some blue cheese or sour cream dip that you dip the chicken and fries into, unlimited amounts of garlic bread and your choice of garden or Caesar salad accompany the chicken strip feast.

So after gobbling all that down and watching the leafs pummel the habs, we decided that we needed some caffeine. I really wanted to go to Starbucks because they have the best Mocha Latte that I have ever had, while Hayley wanted to go to Second Cup which to tell you the truth, I have never had any of their products. So to decide this tough choice, a paper-scissors-rocks match was absolutely required. I tend to always use scissors for some stupid reason. Hayley obviously figured this one of many faults I have in my arsenal, and won the best two out of three battles. So being a good kind person that she is, she was sympathetic to my needs and suggested we go to both Starbucks and then Second Cup. SCORE AGAIN!

We arrived at the entrance to Starbucks and in no time and I jumped out of the car with pure joy and buffalo chicken strips going through my veins. I was feeling awesome but I just could not do it, I could not go in. I felt so bad for making Hayley take a detour to get me my special coffee that I figured I should just suck it up and try another retailers product. She thought I was out of my tree but continued on the way to her destination of choice - Second Cup.

If it were not for the longest signal lights in the world we would have gotten to Second Cup quicker but we managed anyways. When we got out of the car I noticed that the people walking into Second Cup were dressed in somewhat formal attire which consisted of shiny leather shoes, blazer, and just 'dressy' looking clothing. Even Hayley was dressed to impress as she was wearing fancy clothing as well. I felt completely out of the loop as I was wearing my comfortable clothing which comprised of old torn jeans, old sweater, and my old black Adidas sneakers - I was in no way dressed to impress. DARN!

I ordered some thing called a Cafe Mocha, which I figured would be somewhat similar to Mocha Lattes from Starbucks. Sure enough it was, except it tasted a little weaker. Either way I liked it and was satisfied sipping on it while I sat in a very comfortable seat and attempted to search for the horoscope section of the Financial Times, which I do not think exists. Relaxing like that made us tired so we called it a night and headed home. A mighty good end to a mighty good evening.

You will be missed Gunther.

Mike
