My thoughts on iTunes 7
September 14, 2006

There has been a ton of talk about the latest iTunes release from Apple. Some of the talk included good comments filled with nothing but pure pleasure and joy and the rest of the talk from the web community were comments and stories based on issue filled problems that people are encountering once they install the app onto their machines. Some of these issues include gobbling up of RAM causing the computer to freeze and or pause, loss of music, and other fun stuff that I am not mentioning because it has been mentioned way too much in the past few days. If all these problems turn out to be actually true events then where was the Apple QA during the development of the new iTunes? Did they just happen to have missed a tiny little thing that caused a boo-boo on some users machines? Or are these machines PCs that have some other issue that is causing these problems (ie a virus)? That last one was uncalled for; sorry for mentioning it, but if this problem were to happen to another OS maker by the name of Microsoft, would this much hype have been created? - Probably not. I think we should all just chill out over what a selected few are experiencing and wait to see what exactly is happening to their machines or iTunes for that matter.
Now if you have experienced some of the problems that some individuals have been noting your probably thinking 'Mike you have not had any problems with iTunes, so you are not one to talk when your music is not being affected.' And you are totally correct I have NOT faced any problems with the latest release of iTunes, but I downloaded the same update as thousands maybe millions of other people. Do you not think that if I downloaded the same thing that other people are doing the same things that I am doing with the application, that I might be experiencing the same thing? Who knows, maybe thousands of others including myself just got lucky.
Let the masters at the big fruit do their tinkering and figure stuff out in peace, make your issue known on the support forum and leave it at that (unless you lost all of your music, then call Apple ASAP).
Cheers,
Mike

I think iTunes 7 is overrated, Michael...and by the by, I couldn't take pictures in the actual party cuz I was working...I'll revise my post now, if that'll make you feel better :)
What do you think?
